Role Purpose
The Club President is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and overall oversight of the Club’s operations. The role ensures the Club functions effectively, operates in accordance with University, USU, and constitutional requirements, and delivers positive outcomes for its members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the executive committee to support effective Club operations
- Ensure the Club operates in compliance with University, USU, and constitutional requirements
- Chair all meetings of the Club, including ordinary, general, and annual general meetings in accordance with governance standards, and run executive meetings as required.
- Provide oversight of Club activities, events, and day-to-day operations
- Delegate responsibilities to executive members and subcommittees and monitor progress
- Act as the primary representative and spokesperson for the Club when required
- Act as an authorised signatory for the Club’s bank account and legal documents, as required
- Present a Presidential report at the Annual General Meeting
- Ensure a thorough handover to the incoming President and executive team
